Current Service Opportunities

Hey, want to join in the work Christ is doing here at WCC?

We'd love to have you jump in! We've got a few ideas below, and we're also regularly posting needs in our bulletin.

Before we begin, we want to let you know some of our thoughts on recruitment.

First, WCC is a spiritual organization seeking to accomplish spiritual work. Therefore, the work that any of us do needs to be done by the grace and strength of Christ (1st Corinthians 15:10). So, if you volunteer--even if its for something as simple as vacuuming after an event, please commit your service to the Lord as worship; seeking Him that His grace might enable you to do it for His glory.

Likewise, we don't want anyone to burn out. It is true that many hands make light work and if all of us pitch in, hopefully no one gets burned out. Psalm 127:2 is clear that it is vain to eat the bread of "painful labors". So please know that we do not want you to get stuck in a service role that is not the right fit for you. Most of the time, our ministries have "terms" or "season" and we'd prefer that you finish out the agreed upon term, but once that term is complete, and if you would like to try something else, we will welcome that change and-- hopefully :) -- not give you any pressure to continue in a role you'd rather not.

So, with that, here are some current service opportunities at WCC, if you're interested in helping out, please contact our church office at 970-568-3884 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Children's Church Teacher (Summer of 2019):

    • Would you like to invest in the lives of young children through God’s Word? We could use volunteers to teach in our Pre-K ministry, once a month, during the worship service. We are currently going through the Old Testament using Discipleland’s curriculum—which gives lesson plans, teaching helps, and ideas for games and activities.

Coffee Hour Coordinator:

      • We would like to start up a "Coffee Hour" after church each week. This might also include a bite to eat of things like coffee cakes and bagels. We've done this from time to time and find that it works best with a coordinator who manages the details of things like being sure we have everything we need like: coffee grounds, milk/cream/sugar, cups, etc. Likewise, we'd like to coordinate a schedule of people bringing in food. Many people are willing to help with the food, we just need someone to provide the overall coordination.

Greeter:

      • Do you want to demonstrate the love of Christ to our church family? We'd love to have your help as a Greeter. Although we currently have great greeters, we can always use more! Greeters stand by the doors and offer a kind "welcome" as people arrive. Likewise, they keep their eyes out for first time guests and help them find their way around the church property.  This role could be something as infrequent as once a month, or every week. Whatever works for your schedule.

Chair Setup:

      • You may have noticed that our "sanctuary" looks alot like a gym, that's because it it! Throughout the week, the gym is used by various organizations for various functions. Therefore, we need to set up and take down the chairs every week. This usually only takes about 20-30 minutes and we have several teams that rotate. The teams have a wide range of flexibility of when they do the setup anywhere from Saturday morning all the way even to very early Sunday. If you'd like to help, we've got a place for you!
